Epilepsi hos barn og ungdom

Epilepsi rammer omtrent fire per 1000 barn i Norge. Typiske symptomer og tegn på epilepsianfall kan variere fra kraftige rykninger og kramper, til fjernhet, at musklene blir slappe eller korte muskelrykninger uten nedsatt bevissthet.

Risikoen for å få et epileptisk anfall kan øke ved blant annet lite søvn, høy feber hos småbarn, lavt blodsukker, stress, rask pust , visse forgiftninger og noen typer medisiner. Illustrasjonsfoto: Colourbox
