For tidlig fødsel - prematuritet

Premature barn vil si barn som fødes før utgangen av svangerskapets uke 37. Omtrent 7,5 prosent av alle svangerskap ender med for tidlig fødsel. Andelen barn som overlever ved for tidlig fødsel, har steget raskt de siste tiårene.

Barn som fødes før utgangen av 37. svangerskapsuke, kalles premature barn.
