Urinveisinfeksjon hos barn

Infeksjoner i urinveiene deles vanligvis inn i øvre og nedre infeksjoner. Øvre infeksjoner er i nyrebekken og eventuelt i selve nyrevevet. Nedre infeksjoner er betennelse i blære og urinrør, og er en overflatisk infeksjon i slimhinnene.

Ved øvre urinveisinfeksjon kan forløpet være akutt med høy feber, dårlig allmenntilstand, oppkast, diaré og magesmerter.
